Gingerbread Spice Mix

After trying to buy/find Gingerbread spice for a pancake recipe, I came to the conclusion it's pretty much the same thing as Pumpkin Pie spice. But store-bought Pumpkin Pie spice didn't have cloves and I knew I wanted something a little more complex, so these ingredients are the ones I finally decided on!

Steps
- 1
Measure out spices and combine in airtight container.
- 2
Make sure well sealed and shake to mix!
- 3
Store in cool dry place, out of direct sunlight. I'm using a small mason jar with a label.
- 4
You could also add ground coriander, ground cayenne, black pepper, ground anise or any combination to suit your own taste!
- 5
Cakes, (standard size) use 3-5 tsp.
- 6
Cookies, (2-3 dozen) use 2-4 tsp.
- 7
Pancakes or waffles, (8 servings) use 1-3 tsp.
- 8
Can be used when making coffee, sprinkled on hot chocolate or even as a rub for chicken! Endless possibilites! And it would also make a great gift!
- 9
Sprinkled on Apple slices today and loved it! Also was good in herbal tea! :-)
