Lau/Lauki r Shukto (Bottle gourd in mustard sauce) Lau/Lauki r Shukto (Bottle gourd in mustard sauce)
This is how it was called by my grand-mother. No, there is no bitter gourd or plantain in this shukto. Shukto is a traditional Bengali dish which is bitter in taste due to bitter gourd added. This is made with bottle gourd or lauki and tastes fantastic. I have used radhuni/wild celery for the flavoring. This is a spice unique in Bengali cuisine. However, if not available methi seeds can be used.#everydayveg #nogarliconion #shukto The Epicurean Feast
