Ingredients

  • For puri
  • 3 cupswheat flour
  • 2 tbspoil
  • 1/2 tspsalt
  • Water as required
  • Oil for deep frying
  • For Batata rassa (potato curry)
  • 5medium sized potatoes
  • 2medium size onions
  • 2medium size tomatoes
  • 8/10curry leaves
  • 5/6garlic cloves
  • 1 inchginger
  • 2 tbspdry grated coconut
  • 1/2 tspmustard seeds
  • 1/2 tspcumin seeds
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • Pinchasafoetida
  • 1 tspred chilli powder
  • 1 tsphomemade kala masala
  • 1 tsphomemade kanda lasun masala (onion garlic masala)
  • 2 tbspoil
  • Salt as per taste
  • Water as required
  • For Masalabhat
  • 21/2 cupsBasmati rice
  • 1small cup fresh green peas
  • 10/12curry leaves
  • 1/4 cupcashews
  • 1big tomato cut into lengthwise
  • 5/6garlic cloves
  • 1 inchginger
  • 2 tbspdry grated coconut
  • 1 tspred chilli powder
  • 1 tsphomemade kala masala
  • 1 tspdhanya jeera powder
  • 1/4 tspgaram masala
  • 3 tbspoil
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1 tspsugar
  • 6 cupboiled water
  • For Koshimbir
  • 1small cup finely chopped onion
  • 1small cup finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1small cup finely chopped cucumbers
  • 1/2small cup roasted crushed peanuts
  • 2green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 tspsugar
  • Salt as per taste
  • Shrikhand
  • 150 gmschakka (yoghurt)
  • 150 gmssugar
  • 1 tspcardamom powder
  • 1 tspdry fruits powder

Steps

    For puri

    Heat 2 tbsp oil in tadka pan.

    In a large mixing bowl add wheat flour, salt & hot oil, mix well.

    Add little water and knead the dough.

    The dough should not be soft but a little tight

    Divide the dough into small size balls

    Roll the dough ball evenly into circle using rolling pin

    Heat oil in a kadhai & deep fry one by one.

    For Batata rassa (potato curry)

    Rinse, peeled & chopped potatoes into small cubes.

    Grind garlic, ginger & dry coconut to a smooth paste.

    Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, let them crackle.

  13. 13

    Add cumin seeds, let them crackle.

    Add curry leaves, chopped onion. Saute until turns trasculent.

    Add chopped tomatoes & saute till the tomatoes soften.

    Add asafoetida, turmeric powder, chopped potatoes.

    Cover the pan with lid cook until potatoes are half cooked

    Add ginger garlic coconut paste, all masales & salt. mix well.

    Add water as per consistency of gravy & boil it on sim till it cooks well.

    For Masalebhat

    Clean and wash the rice, drain and keep aside

    Wash green peas also & keep aside

    In a mixer grind ginger garlic & coconut to a smooth paste.

    Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds, let them crackle.

    Add asafoetida, turmeric powder, curry leaves & green peas and mix well.

    Cover the pan with lid and cook until the peas soften.

  27. 27

    Add rice, all masales, salt and mix until the rice is well coated.

    Add 6 cups of boiled water.

    Add tomatoes, cashews & sugar.

    Cover the pan with lid & cook until rice is done.

    For Koshimbir

    In a large mixing bowl combine all ingredients together and mix well.
