2 3/4 cupFlour
1 1/2 cupSugar
1/2 cupShortening
2Eggs
1 tspBaking Powder
1 tspBaking Soda
1/2 cupButtermilk
1/2 tspSalt
1 tspVanilla
1/2 cupHot Water
1/2 cupCocoa Powder

Steps

*Hot water and cocoa are mixed together*

Cream sugar, shortening, add eggs, then chocolate mixture and vanilla.

Sift dry ingredients together.

Add alternately with buttermilk to cream mixture.

Beat until smooth.

Let cool before putting on cookie sheet.

Drop by the tablespoonful on cookie sheet 3 inches apart.

Bake 8-12 minutes @ 350°F
