To the kadai, add 2 tbps of oil and add half tsp of mustard seeds, half tsp of split urad dhal, 1tsp of Chana dhal, onions, garlic, red chillies, tamarind and saute for 2 minutes

Add mint and curry leaves cook for some time in low flame till the raw smell disappears

Switch off the flame. Add the coriander leaves and the grated coconut and cover it with a lid

Allow it to cool down completely

In an electric mixer: first powder the roasted gram dhal and add the above mixture, salt and grind it to a coarse paste

Serve with hot idlis and dosas
