I never used to know the difference between Mandazi and Mahamri. To me they were the same until I visited my sister in Malindi. We were served Mbaazi wa nazi with Mahamri. Woah! It was so delicious, I had to ask for a recipe. Here is my simple recipe witha little twist.

Steps

Mix flour with sugar, salt, lemon rind and instant yeast.

Add the Margarine, mix with hands

Make a well, add the eggs... Then the milk.

Knead thoroughly.
Cover. Let it rise. When it has doubled in size knead and cover again. - 5
Let it rise the second time. Knead again.

Make small balls and cut into triangles. It should not be thick.
Deep fry. - 7
It should have a hole when you bite😂. Thats what I was told

Enjoy with a cup of Tea. I love it with Masala tea.
