Ingredients

  1. 500 gmsChicken
  2. 2Sliced tomato medium size
  3. 2Sliced onion medium size
  4. 1 tspTomato puree
  5. 1 tspKashmiri mirch powder
  6. 1/2 tspTurmeric powder
  7. 1 tbspLemon juice
  8. 1 tbspWhole coriander seeds
  9. 4-5Whole red chilli
  10. 2-3Cloves
  11. 2-3Green cardamom
  12. 3-4Whole black pepper
  13. 1Black cardamom
  14. 1"Cinnamon
  15. 3-4Star anise
  16. 1/2 tspCumin seeds / jeera
  17. 1/2 tspFennel seeds / sauf
  18. 2 tbspGinger garlic paste
  19. 7-8Curry leaves
  20. 1/2 cupGrated fresh coconut
  21. to tasteSalt
  22. 1/2 cupOil

Steps

  1. 1

    Dry roast the whole red chilli,cloves,whole black pepper,whole
    coriander seeds,cumin seeds,fennel seeds,green cardamom,black cardamom,cinnamon,star anise and also dry roast the fresh coconut and make a powder.

  2. 2

    Marinate chicken pieces with kashmiri red chilli powder,turmeric powder,lemon juice,1tbsp ginger garlic paste and salt.

    Keep in the freeze for an hour.

  4. 4

    Heat oil in a pan.

  5. 5

    Add sliced onion fry till light brown

  6. 6

    Add curry leaves and 1 tbsp ginger garlic paste and mix well.

  7. 7

    Add marinated chicken and sliced tomatoes and cook cover in a low flame for 15 mins.

  8. 8

    Add roasted spices and 1/2 cup of water.

  9. 9

    Cover it and cook in a low flame for 7 - 8 mins.

  10. 10

    Serve with chaptatis.
