Ingredients

5 people
  1. 10large potatoes, peeled and sliced
  2. 2 cupsYellow Gram flour
  3. 2finely-chopped medium sized onions
  4. 1 bunchfinely chopped Dhania
  5. 2 teaspoonswhole cumin
  6. 1bulb of peeled and crushed garlic
  7. to tasteSalt
  8. Sunflower or Vegetable Cooking oil for deep frying

Steps

  1. 1

    Wash the sliced potatoes and drain all water.

  2. 2

    To the drained potatoe-slices add the onions, Dhania, cumin seeds, salt and garlic(without water) and form a rough/rubbery paste. Cover the mixture for for 15mins.

  3. 3

    After 10-15mins the mixture will be more of a smooth paste as water from the potatoes would have been drawn out via osmosis.

  4. 4

    Heat oil in a Sufuria or skillet and deep fry by adding individual slices to prevent them from clumping.

  5. 5

    Remove from the hot oil when slightly brown, drain excess oil and serve with chilli or tomato sauce.
