Soak the lentils for 1-2 hours

Now boil it in a pressure cooker with salt and turmeric powder

Heat oil in a wok temper jeera seeds bay leaf and red chilli whole

As it crackle add asafoetida and ginger paste saute well till the raw smell disappears

Add all the masalas and saute well

Now pour the boiled lentil and combine well

Add water and cover it

Finally add sugar and chat masala powder

Serve it with a dash of ghee along with roti,paratha or poori
