Ingredients

  1. 500 gmsCountry Chicken
  2. 2Onions finely chopped
  3. 5-6green chilies
  4. 2 tspGinger garlic paste
  5. 2 tspgaram masala
  6. 1small bowl freshly grated coconut
  7. 2 tbsppopy seeds
  8. 2 tbspsoaked cashews
  9. 10-15curry leaves
  10. 2 tbspoil
  11. Salt and chilli powder as per taste
  12. 1/2 tspturmeric
  13. as neededWhole Masala (elachi,cardamom,cinnamon,cloves,mace,bay leaf)
  14. Water as required
  15. For Vada:
  16. 1 cupsoaked Urad dal
  17. 1/4 tspsoaked methi
  18. Salt as per taste
  19. 10-15curry leaves
  20. As neededOil for deep frying

Steps

    Apply ginger garlic paste, salt, turmeric and chilli powder to washed and cleaned chicken. Leave it to marinate atleast for an hour.

  2. 2

    Heat oil in a cooker. Add whole garam masala, Sautee onion and chillies to golden brown. Add the marinated chicken and cook it for 3-4whistles, with required water.

  3. 3

    Once done, simmer the chicken by adding paste of freshly grated coconut+soaked poppy seeds+soaked cashews. Cook for 10-15 mins.

  4. 4

    Add garam masala, chilli powder and if required salt. Add fresh curry leaves and coriander before taking off the stove and serve hot.

    Grind soaked Urad dal along with soaked methi and salt.

  6. 6

    Add curry leaves to the batter. Make vadas and fry them till golden brown.
