Mississippi Roast My Way

I like using a packet of beef gravy over the au jus mix and I like adding carrots, garlic and potatoes to make it a one pot meal all through you could leave them out if wanted. If you didn't use diced potatoes it's very good served with mashed potatoes. I made this today with just carrots and I stuffed a few garlic cloves into meat before browning and left out the minced garlic.

Ingredients

  • 3-4 lbChuck roast
  • Black pepper
  • 1 packetbeef gravy mix
  • 1 packetOnion soup mix
  • 1 packetRanch seasoning
  • 2 Tablespoonsminced garlic only need if adding vegetables
  • Baby Yukon gold potatoes diced
  • Baby carrots
  • 1/2 cupwater If adding vegetables
  • 1 stickreal butter sliced
  • 8pepperoncini peppers

Steps

  1. 1

    Pepper and brown roast in a skillet in a little oil and place carrots, potatoes and water in slow cooker and mix with garlic and add roast.

  2. 2

    Sprinkle each pack of seasonings on roast evenly and place pats of butter all over roast and place peppers around the roast.

  3. 3

    Cover and cook for about 8 hours on low.

  4. 4

    Shread or slice meat and enjoy
