Great cooking is about being inspired by the simple things around you–fresh markets, various spices... It doesn’t necessarily have to look fancy!🤷♀️Today's preparation is a combination of two lentils, black gram split and Bengal gram split (urad chilka dal and chana dal). This combination is very usually consumed in our daily lives. As we all know that pulses offer a variety of health benefits, such as improving digestion, aiding weight management and reducing the risk of several diseases. These deals are packed with protein, and also good quality fibers. So this was all about nutritional advantages! #deepfried - This can be a perfect party appetizer. Made from some leftover Idiyappam (string hoppers) and ground urad dal. My first try and they came out absolutely yummy. So go ahead and give it a try and surprise your loved ones. Serve along with tomato sauce, green chutney, mayo or hummus. They can also be relished as a side dish with dal chawal, curd rice or sambar rice. Bethica Das -

Tadka Dal Cheela Tadka Dal Cheela
#Bandhan - Some protein rich breakfast is an ideal way to start your day. So why not with some cheelas (crepes / pancakes)? Give a twist to the usual recipe by adding a tadka (tempering) to the batter in order to give a completely different flavour. These cheelas are healthy, low in fat and good for diabetics. Besides breakfast, they can also be had for lunch / dinner. Enjoy them with chutney, yoghurt, pickles or any side dish. Bethica Das -

Split pea dal Split pea dal
a Brit living in Geneva, I have noticed the distinct lack of decent Indian restaurants, which we are so spoiled with in the UK. I had to come up with a decent home made curry, which is now tested a few times on myself and a few friends. Also recently started cooking vegetarian! jonathanluizbosch -
