Steps

Clean the brinjal and roast it on gas top. Once it's roasted properly on all sides remove and let it cool. Peel off the skin

Heat a pan and add some oil in it. Once hot add the onions and garlic cloves and saute till golden brown. Add the turmeric powder and mix well

Add the brinjal into the pan and mash it well. Add salt as per taste and keep cooking

Fry the bodi or lentil dumplings separatey and mix it with the brinjal
- 5
Once the bharta looks cooked remove and garnish with coriander leaves and green chillies. Your bharta is ready to be served
