Upma Chaat where South meets North

Upma is the instant breakfast dish that invariably comes to my mind, in the mornings. I make upma atleast once a week as it does not involve any elaborate, nor does it need any pre-made batter (as for dosa and idli)
Thus, it does gain over the other breakfast items. How? I have listed it in my earlier blog post along with the recipe.
Having prepared and savored, warm and tasty upma, satiating your hunger, some amount of it, is always left behind. What do you do with the remaining upma?
Throwing the unused dish is out of question. I strongly believe that fresh cooked food has to be consumed or reused or provided to the needy.
Thus I had kept the surplus upma, assuming that I will eat it in the evening. But who would want to eat the upma, gone cold? Upma tastes best when it is freshly made and warm. Thus, I thought of making a tasty dish of it. What better dish could perk up my palate – than chaat. Ah! Just the name of chaat, enlivens my taste buds.
The making of upma chaat:
That was when I concocted a fusion dish – upma chaat. Very easy to prepare, one just need’s date and tamarind chutney, onion, coriander leaves and chewda (savoury chickpea flour flakes) As chillies are already added in upma, it is not required to add further spices. However, if required, you can up, it's spiciness by adding some green chillies.
And lo your delicious fusion chaat is ready! Do try it out.
