Ingredients

  1. For Veg Manchurian Balls:
  2. 1/2 cupmaida/ all purpose flour
  3. 2 tbspCorn flour
  4. 3/4 cupshredded Carrot
  5. 3/4 cupshredded Cabbage
  6. 1/2 cupfinely chopped Capsicum
  7. 1finely chopped Green Chilli
  8. 1/2 tspPepper Powder
  9. 1 tspsalt
  10. For Gravy:
  11. 1 inchGinger
  12. 2Green Chillies
  13. 1 sliceGarlic
  14. 2 tbspfinely chopped Spring Onion
  15. 1 tbspOil
  16. 2 tbspSoy Sauce
  17. 1/2 tbspChilli Sauce
  18. 2 tbspTomato Ketchup
  19. 1 tspPepper Powder
  20. 2 tbspCornflour
  21. 1 tspSalt

    Preparing Manchurian: Take a bowl, add shredded carrot, shredded cabbage, chopped capsicum and chopped green chilli, oil, pepper powder, maida, cornflour and salt.

    Mix  all  ingredients  properly.  Prepare  small  round  shaped  balls  from  the  mix.  Do  not  add water. 

  3. 3

    Heat oil in a kadhai (pan). Deep fry prepared balls on medium flame until they turn golden brown. 

  4. 4

    Drain excess oil and transfer them to plate.

  5. 5

    Preparing gravy: Dissolve cornflour in 1/2 cup of water.

  6. 6

    Heat oil in a pan. Add minced ginger, minced garlic, chopped green chilli and chopped spring onion.

  7. 7

    Sauté for a minute. 

  8. 8

    Add soy sauce, chilli sauce and tomato ketchup; sauté for a minute.

  9. 9

    Pour 1 cup water, pepper powder and salt. Bring mixture to boil over medium flame.

  10. 10

    Add dissolved cornflour to the gravy. 

  11. 11

    Mix well and cook it on low flame for 2 minutes.

    Add deep fried balls and cook for few mins over medium flame.

  13. 13

    Turn off flame and garnish it with chopped spring onion.

    Enjoy hot and spicy veg manchurian with fried rice or noodles or simply as appetizer.
