Ingredients

1fresh red chili, seeded and finely chopped
2garlic cloves, crushed
4 tbspdark soy sauce
4 tsplemon juice, or one and 1/2 tbsp tamarind juice (if available)
2 tbsphot water
2 tbspdeep-fried onion slices

Steps

Mix the chili, garlic, soy sauce, lemon or tamarind juice and hot water in a bowl

Stir in the onion slices, and leave to stand for 30 minutes before serving
