I am going to share a simple but very versatile ‘Spring Onion & Garlic Sauce’ recipe. To make this sauce, you need five ingredients that are Spring Onion, Garlic, Sesame Oil, Salt and White Pepper. Depending on the dish you use this sauce for, you can add Vinegar, Lemon/Lime Juice, Sesame Seeds, Soy Sauce or Chilli to create more flavours. Today I used this sauce for seasoning the fried rice.

Ingredients

2 servings
  1. <Spring Onion & Garlic Sauce>
  2. 2Spring Onion *finely chopped
  3. 1 cloveGarlic *grated
  4. 1-2 teaspoonsSesame Oil
  5. 1/2 teaspoonSalt
  6. 1-2 teaspoonsSoy Sauce
  7. 1/2 teaspoonWhite Pepper
  8. *Note: You may wish to add 1/2 teaspoon ‘Asian Chicken Bouillon Powder’. If you do, reduce the amount of Salt and Soy Sauce
  9. Rice Ingredients>
  10. Cooked Rice 2 servings *about 360g, warmed
  11. 150-200 gPork *thinly sliced, OR use minced pork
  12. 2Eggs *lightly whisked
  13. Oil for cooking

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix all the sauce ingredients in a small bowl.

  2. 2

    Add small mount of Oil to the heated frying pan or wok over medium high heat, cook thinly sliced Pork until nicely browned. Transfer to a plate.

  3. 3

    Add extra 1 tablespoon Oil, cook Eggs and warmed Cooked Rice, return the cooked Pork, and stir-fry for a few minutes. Add all the sauce and mix well to combine.
