This traditional Bengali Kosha Mangsho or Mutton Kosha is a perfect lunch recipe.It has a slightly rich gravy made specially with mustard oil and enjoyed with sweet pulao or rice or luchi.

This traditional Bengali Kosha Mangsho or Mutton Kosha is a perfect lunch recipe.It has a slightly rich gravy made specially with mustard oil and enjoyed with sweet pulao or rice or luchi.

Marinate mutton with 2 tbsp oil,papaya paste,1 onion paste,ginger garlic paste,curd,tomato puree and little salt preferably overnight or at least 3 hours before cooking.

Heat mustard oil in a pressure cooker and sprinkle half crushed whole garam masala.Then fry 3 chopped onions with little salt and sugar.Add the marinated mutton alongwith the gravy.Add turmeric,kashmiri red chilli powder, bay leaves,meat masala and fry till oil leaves sides.Add 1 cup warm water.Pressure cook upto 5-6 whistles till mutton is tender.

Release steam.Add halved boiled potatoes and boil for few minutes till gravy is thick.Sprinkle garam masala and chopped coriander.Enjoy with rice,pulao or luchi /poori.
