Peel and thinely slice Kand (purple yam).soak in salted water for 10 mins.

In mixing bowl add besan,salt, crushed coriander seeds, black pepper, sesame seeds.

Add turmeric powder,red chilli powder, asafoetida, oil and enough water to make thick batter.

Strain soaked Kand (purple yam) slices. Coat each kand slice with prepared spicy besan batter and drop them one by one in hot oil. Deep fry on medium flame till golden brown in colour.

Serve/ Relish Hot Kand bhajiyas with tomato sauce on winter days.
