Ingredients

  1. 1 cupbesan (bengal gram flour)
  2. 1/4 tspchilli powder
  3. 1/2 cupwater
  4. 1/4 tspcoriander powder
  5. to tastesalt
  6. 2 tbspoil
  7. 1/4 tspmustard seeds
  8. 1 pinchasafoetida (hing)
  9. 1 tbspdesiccated coconut
  10. 1/4 tspturmeric powder
  11. 1 tspchopped coriander for garnishing

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat the oil in a kadhai and add the mustard seeds.

  2. 2

    When the seeds crackle, add the turmeric powder, asafoetida, water, chilli powder,coriander powder and salt and mix well.

  3. 3

    When water start boiling add besan with little water to avoid lumps or balls, while stirring immediately.

  4. 4

    Keep stirring for 4-5 minutes.

  5. 5

    Take one greased thali and transfer cooked besan in it.

  6. 6

    Then flatten with your fingers.

  7. 7

    Cut into square shape or any shape of your choice.

  8. 8

    Garnish with coriander and coconut.

  9. 9

    Serve hot.
