A classic Sicilian comfort dish—simple and incredibly delicious, just like my dad. This recipe shows how you can make a great pasta dish with just a few humble ingredients. I chose this dish because my father taught me humility.

A classic Sicilian comfort dish—simple and incredibly delicious, just like my dad. This recipe shows how you can make a great pasta dish with just a few humble ingredients. I chose this dish because my father taught me humility.

Bring a large pot of water to a boil for the pasta and start preparing the sauce.

In a skillet, sauté the garlic in olive oil. Add the anchovies with a little of their oil and let them melt. Stir in the tomato sauce and tomato paste. Add a little water and let it cook.

Add the raisins and pine nuts, then turn off the heat and set aside while the pasta cooks. Meanwhile, in a small pan, heat a little oil with the breadcrumbs and a pinch of salt, toasting until golden.

Drain the pasta, toss it in the sauce in the skillet, and plate. Sprinkle with the toasted breadcrumbs and serve hot.
