Ingredients

  • 2 cuprice
  • 1/4 cupsplit pigeon peas (tur dal)
  • 1/4 cupsplit black gram (urad dal)
  • 1/4 cupwhole red lentils (whole masoor)
  • 1/4 cupsplit chick peas
  • 1/4 cupsplit yellow petite (moong dal)
  • 1onion chopped
  • 1medium tomato chopped
  • 1/2 tspmustard seeds
  • 1/2 tspcumin seed
  • 1 tspturmeric powder
  • 1/2 tspred chilli powder
  • 1 tspChilli paste
  • 1 tspginger paste
  • 1 tsproughly crush garlic paste
  • 1 tspgarlic (finely chopped)
  • 1bayleaf
  • 1star anise
  • 5-7peppercorns
  • 2cloves
  • 1 inchpiece cinnamon
  • 1black cardamom
  • 2dry red chilli (whole)

Steps

    Wash and soak rice and mix daal for half hour.

    In cooker pan heat clarified butter add mustard and cumin seed when splutter add bayleaf, cloves, pepper, cinnamon, star anise, black cardamom and red chilli saute for 2 minutes, add onion and tomato saute for 2 minutes, add ginger chilli garlic paste, red chilli powder and turmeric powder mix well.Add soak rice and soaked mix daal.

    Now add spinach coriander paste, spinach, salt,required water mix well. Now cover lid and cook for 4 whistle.Remove to serving dish and temper it with burnt garlic. Serve with different pickles, papad and garlic buttermilk.
