Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsgrated cheddar cheese
  2. 1 cupfresh breadcrumbs
  3. as neededOil for deep frying
  4. 1 tablespooncornflour
  5. 2 tablespoonsrefined flour
  6. 11/2 inchginger piece, finely chopped
  7. 1/4 teaspooncrushed black pepper
  8. to tasteSalt
  9. 2 teaspoonslemon juice
  10. 1 pinchbaking soda
  11. 2green chillies, chopped
  12. 1/4 teaspoonred chilli powder
  13. 1/4 teaspoonroasted cumin powder
  14. 1 tablespoonfresh coriander leaves,chopped

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

  2. 2

    Mix cheese, breadcrumbs, cornflour, refined flour, ginger, crushed black pepper corns, salt,lemon juice, baking soda, green chillies, red chilli powder, roasted cumin powder and coriander leaves and mix well. add a little water and mix into a dough.

  3. 3

    Slide the balls, a few at a time, into the hot oil and deep fry on medium heat,stirring gently,till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

  4. 4

    Serve hot.
