Fiber-Packed Okara Mochi for Dieters Fiber-Packed Okara Mochi for Dieters
I eat okara whenever I feel guilty about overeating.I wanted to eat okara mochi but I figured katakuriko has about the same amount of calories as flour... So I thought of reducing the amount of katakuriko, tried it, and it turned out to be quite delicious. If you sprinkle kinako and sugar, everything will taste like abekawa mochi!Be sure to mix as though you are kneading it in Step 1. The okara's moisture should help the dough come together. If the dough is still too dry, adjust by gradually adding water. Cooking time will differ depending on your microwave, so adjust accordingly. Fruit Yogurt Agar (Kanten) Fruit Yogurt Agar (Kanten)
I made this to use up yogurt I had. It is easy to make and has lots of fruit in it, so it is delicious. It is not so sweet so if you prefer it sweeter, you can add 10-20 g more sugar if you like.If the fruits are big, cut in advance. You can pour the syrup on the kanten when it has hardened. You have to melt the powdered kanten well at Step 2 otherwise it wouldn't harden. When it starts to bubble, mix for 3 to 4 minutes and let the kanten melt.At Step 3, mix quickly. Grapefruit Jam Grapefruit Jam
When I see fruit in season, I just can't resist the urge to turn it into jam.Add it to yogurt, or spread on bread.I love the sweet smell in the kitchen when I'm making jam, too.Since both the peel and membranes are removed, not a lot of scum will come out. Be sure keep skimming when it starts to simmer.I don't like the bitterness of marmalade so I leave the peel out, but if you do like that bitter flavor, it's probably better to add the peel for a bitter flavor accent. Easy Yogurt Jelly with Your Favorite Fruits Easy Yogurt Jelly with Your Favorite Fruits
I made this as a snack for my daughter.I used frozen blueberries and bananas.Bananas discolor pretty quickly, so dip everything in the jelly mixture to prevent it from reacting with the air, or top right before serving. Also good with strawberries, mangos, canned tangerines, and canned peaches.
