Kunu!
My favorite natural drink...so refreshing 😋🤗
Steps
- 1
Soak your millet over night. Wash properly. Drain, add enough water to cover it. Set aside for grinding.
- 2
Pound your sweet potato, ginger and cloves together in a mortar. Put in a separate bowl, add little water.. then take to a grinding engine and grind. Grind the millet separately from the potato and ginger mixture. Grind until a smooth paste is formed.
- 3
Boil water in a big pot until steaming hot. Mix the millet paste in a big bowl, by adding little water to it (like you want to make your pap) mix throughly to avoid lumps. Pour the hot water and immediately start stirring it with a wooden spatula. Stir until it becomes thick like pap. Allow to cool down, then add the potato mixture and stir again.
- 4
At it point, it's no longer thick like the first time you poured the hot water. You can now seive using a filter cloth. After seiving, you can now add sugar or natural sweetener to taste. Pack in plastic containers and refrigerate.
- 5
Your kunu is ready. Serve chilled 😋
