Blueberry Chipotle Barbeque Sauce

My dad has a huge blueberry bush that produces a lot of berries. He unfortunately is not able to eat them because of the seeds. But he still picks the berries, packages and freezes them. Last time I visited he gave me 4 gallon bags full!! So it seems like the perfect time to try my hand at a blueberry BBQ sauce.

Steps
- 1
Add blueberries, water and honey to small saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to a boil and cook 4-5 minutes until blueberries are soft. Turn off heat and stir in remaining ingredients. Note: Adjust the chipotle pepper powder to your personal heat preference.
- 2
Pour sauce into blender or food processor and blend until smooth.
- 3
Sauce is ready! It's that easy!
- 4
Sauce will keep in refrigerator in container with tight lid for 2 weeks.
- 5
Note:. This sauce has a high sugar content and will burn fairly easily. Add it to grilled meats - beef, pork or chicken - during last few minutes of cooking.
