To make just Teriyaki Sauce:
Pour 0.5 cups soy sauce, 0.5 cups mirin/sake, 2 tbs sugar into medium saucepan.
Bring to quick boil and quickly reduce heat to simmer.
Reduce the sauce until its about a little less than half reduced.
Let chill once done and store in clean bottle in refrigerator.

Ingredients

  • 1 lbsChicken Thighs (skinless, boneless)
  • 2 tbsSoy Sauce
  • 1.5 tbsSugar
  • 1.5 tbsJapanese Cooking Sake (rice wine)
  • 1.75 tbsOil
  • White Sesame, for garnishing

Steps

    Marinate the chicken with soy sauce, sugar and cooking sake for 20 minutes.

  2. 2

    Heat up a skillet with the oil on low heat. When the oil is heated, transfer the chicken and the marinade sauce into the skillet and let cook slowly. Turn the chicken over after 5 minutes and continue to cook on low heat, for another 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Dish out and garnish with some sesame seeds. Serve immediately with steamed rice.
