Chocolate Coated Barley Puff Rolls Chocolate Coated Barley Puff Rolls
These days, bread-making ingredients are sold very expensively in shops. In our household, at least, sweets enjoyed on a day to day basis have to be gentle on the body as well as the wallet, and make the kids happy at the same time. This time, I didn't use just chocolate coated barley puffs, but also included strawberry coated barley puffs. You can just as well only use the chocolate version and be just fine. When you use the strawberry puffs instead, the pink color might pale a bit, but the taste will stay just fine. If you only use chocolate and only want to make one roll, that's fine too, but I would recommend splitting it into two batches after the second proofing stage, to make the work easier for you. Puff Pastry Puff Pastry
This originally started with me wanting to make arlettes and palmiers but not really being motivated to buy puff pastry from the store. I got a day off work and decided to give it a try. It turns out to be a lot of fun to do and you get a much better pastry than the store bought one.You definitely need a french rolling pin for working the butter. Whether or not you need a pastry scrape depends on how hot your kitchen is. It's been a chilli winter for me so I didn't actually use mine.Puffy pastry is best used the day you make it but you can keep it in a Tupperware container for a few days in the fridge. Chris Jordan -

Strawberry Heart Creme Puffs Strawberry Heart Creme Puffs
I wanted to make a pastry with a rich taste using eggs. Cool them well and enjoy! You'll be tempted to open the oven midway through baking, but absolutely do not do it! For those of you who enjoy a harder puff, change the cake flour to strong bread flour. It'll be even better if you use powdered sugar that isn't moist. For about 8~10 heart shapes.
