Ingredients

  • 1 cupFresh and thick curd at room temperature -
  • 1 to 2 picsDry Red chilli
  • 1 teaspoonChopped garlic
  • 5-6Fresh Curry leaves
  • 1 bigChopped onion
  • 1 mediumChopped potato
  • 1 tbspChopped Green coriander
  • 1/4 tbspTurmeric powder
  • 1/2 tbspMustard seeds
  • 1/2 tbspRed chilli powder
  • 1 pinchAsafoetida (hing)
  • 2 tbspOil
  • to tasteSalt

Steps

  1. 1

    1.Heat oil on a medium flame and add mustard seeds to it. Let the seeds start crackling.
    2.Add asafoetida, chopped onions, garlic and dry red chilies, curry leaves and mix well

    3.add small chopped potato then Saute for a while and then add all the remaining spices. Cook them for a minute on a medium flame

    4.Add fresh yoghurt at room temperature and continuosly stir the curry without covering the lid of the pan.
    5.Take it to a boil and then switch off the flame within a minute. Sprinkle chopped coriander leaves to the curry.

    6.Yummy and tangy curd curry is ready to be served with hot phulkas(roti)and jeera rice.
    Note 1 - Do not overcook the curry after adding curd to it.
    Note 2 - Keep stirring the curry continuously to avoid curdling of the curry.
