Cooking Instructions

Wash & soak udad dal in water for 3-4 hours. Later grind dal with ginger and salt to make a thick batter.

Add oil to a pan & heat it on medium flame for frying vada's. Take lemon size batter with the help of spoon & slowly drop it into the hot oil. Can fry 4 to 5 vada's in one batch. Deep fry it for some time & then turn it till it becomes golden brown. Remove these vada's into a bowl of water.

Repeat the process for frying remaining vada's & soak them in water for half an hour. Then remove it gently & press them between palms to remove the excess water.

Now take curd, add salt mix & beat it nicely so that there are no lumps.

To make dahi vada place the vada in a serving bowl & pour the curd evenly all over the vada's & cover them completely.

As per your choice sprinkle little chaat masala, jeera powder, red chilli powder, curry leaves powder, kala namak & coriander leaves. Your dahi vada is ready. Can also be served with tamarind & green chutney.
