Ingredients

6 servings
  1. 700 gminced beef or lamb
  2. 350 gbulgur wheat
  3. 1 bunchfinely chopped mint
  4. 2medium onions chopped
  5. 2 TBSPall spice
  6. 2 TSPsalt
  7. Pinchblack pepper
  8. 3tomatoes sliced
  9. 2fresh mozarella cheese sliced

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Soak the bulgar wheat in water for 10 minutes.

  2. 2

Rinse the bulgar wheat and squeeze the water out. In a bowl, add the chopped onions, the spices, mint, salt and pepper. Mix it well. (In this occasion I used 1TBSP all spices and 1 TBSP Lebanese 7 spices. (Brand: Schwartz)

  3. 3

Add the meat and mix it by squeezing all together, as if you are kneading bread.

  4. 4

Divide the meat mixture in two. In a oven dish spread one part over the bottom.

  5. 5

Cover it with a layer of tomatoes and mozarella on top.

  6. 6

Use the other half of the mixture to cover it evenly. With a knife, draw diagonal lines, this is just for decoration.

  7. 7

Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes at 220 degrees. Then remove the foil and let it bake for about 1O more minutes or until it is brown. Serve with hummus and salad.

Hi fellow cooks! I am a "sauce" (read South 😂)American girl(older girl 😁) living in Bristol since 2007.I was born in Chile but grew up in Brazil, between two cultures, two languages, two food planets.Everything happened in the kitchen - the laughs, the dances, the pasta fights, the dog's invasion after each meal, and so on.Everyone in my family cooks.Since a young age, I saw my grandparents, my parents, my sister, my brothers, aunties & uncles and everyone else around me trying to feed me, all the time! It doesn't happen anymore, I have to do it now, for myself and for my family. I feed everyone! Here you will find some of those old recipes and some new ones. Also, you will see that my cooking skills come with nice food photos too.See you in the kitchen!
