I love hot chocolate, so here's one that i sometimes make that i class as like my A**. It's plain but that's how I like it.
For other options, you could add cinnamon or mint (i like doing it with after eight chocolates).
I also drink mine pretty sweet. It's very adjustably by just simply putting in less sugar.

Ingredients

10 minutes
1 serving
  1. 300 mlmilk (or enough to fill about 5/6 of your mug)
  2. 2 teaspoonspure cocoa powder
  3. 1 pinchinstant coffee
  4. 4 teaspoonsbrown sugar (or less to preference)
  5. 1 teaspoongolden syrup (alternative could be maple syrup?)
  6. 1couple cubes of milk chocolate (maybe 20-40g?)
  7. Marshmallows (optional)

Cooking Instructions

10 minutes
  1. 1

In a small pan, add your brown sugar. Turn the heat on medium and slowly add the milk, mixing it between each addition so it's nice and well mixed. Then add your instant coffee and mix.

  2. 2

In the mug you're using, add your chocolate, cocoa powder and golden syrup. Mix it all together. If you want to add extra flavours, do it with these.

  3. 3

Once the milk on the pan starts to get a little white skin (or if it's pretty hot when you try it), turn the heat to low.

  4. 4

A tiny bit at a time, start mixing the milk into the chocolate in your mug. I normally start by adding 1 teaspoon of the milk and mixing and then do 2 at a time for a few times. Once it gets quite thick and is all combined, you can just pour the rest of the milk in.

  5. 5

If you're doing marshmallows add them on top. You can drink as is or you could quicky put it under the grill (or use a blow torch/lighter) and toast the marshmallows.

  6. 6

    Enjoy your hot chocolate!
