For this special women's day celebration I want to dedicate this yummy platter to my both moms my mother and my mother in law.
This special halwa is from my mother in law's recipe and rest is from my mother recipe. So both mother are so heartful to me.
Some time we have no time to soak dal for making halwa and we have to make for quick dessert we can make this yummy halwa.
Moong dal is very healthy option for our diet if we add in routine diet it is much better. Here we make dal double layerd paratha which is very crispy and yummy also and if serve with gravy aloo sabji, pickle and curd it's taste is double.
Delhi special chandi chowk halwa paratha is famous for its taste here I make it with little innovation hope you like it.

Ingredients

  1. For halwa
  2. 1 cupsemolina
  3. 1 cupmilk
  4. 1 cupsugar
  5. 3 cupwater
  6. 1/2 tspgreen cardamom powder
  7. handfulraisins
  8. as neededChopped dry fruit
  9. For paratha
  10. 1 cupwhole wheat flour
  11. to taste Salt
  12. 2 tbspany vegetable oil for cooking
  13. 1 cupmoong dal
  14. 1/4 cupurad dal
  15. 1/2 tbsred chilli powder
  16. 1 tbspcoriander powder
  17. 1green chilli chopped
  18. 1 inchginger
  19. 3 tspcoriander leaves
  20. For gravy aloo
  21. 2boiled potatoes
  22. 1 cuptomato puree
  23. 1green chilli chopped
  24. 1 tbspginger paste
  25. 2 tbspdesi ghee
  26. 1/2 tbscumin seeds
  27. 1/4 tspAsafoetida
  28. 1/2 tbspred chilli powder
  29. 1 tbspcoriander powder
  30. 1/2 tbsturmeric powder
  31. 1/2 tbsgaram masala powder
  32. 2 tbspcurd
  33. 1 tbspkasoori methi
  34. 1 tbsplaungi masala
  35. 2 tspFresh coriander for garnish

Cooking Instructions

    For halwa - In a bowl sieve sammolina and mix milk and make smooth paste and rest for about 10 minute.

    In a nonstick voke add ghee when hot add paste of milk and sammolina and stir continuously otherwise stick on bottom.

    On other flame in a pan take 3 cup water and sugar and boil it add green cardamom powder and washed raisins and keep a side.

    When sammolina properly roasted and remove from sides of kadai add sugar syrup and stir continuously add chopped dry fruit and cover it for 5 minute on medium flame.

    For paratha - wash and soak both dal about 1 hour. Now in a blender jar add green chilli,ginger chopped and spices and make smooth paste.

    For dough in a parat wheat flour and salt and make dough with help of water and rest for about 10 minutes.

    In the meantime in a kadai add desi ghee when hot add Asafoetida and cumin seeds when cracked add chopped green chilli and ginger paste stir it now add tomato puree stir it now add spices and laungi masala.

    Add 2 tbsp curd and kasoori methi stir it now add 1 glass of water and boiled mashed potatoes. Cook about 5 minutes.

    Add garam masala powder and fresh coriander.

    For paratha - take small size dough roll it and place on hot tawa. Now apply dal paste with help of ladle or spoon like thin layer. Now apply oil or butter and cook from both sides till golden brown.

    Remove on plate and serve with gravy aloo and halwa.

    This halwa is made from sammolina but its texture is like moong dal halwa and preparation is like it.If we want to make halwa in hurry so we can try it in place of moong dal halwa.
