Farali Jeera Aloo is an easy and tasty recipe of stir fried boiled potatoes and is a perfect dish to be relished during fasting.A single ingredient like cumin seeds and few more spices and herbs can transform simple boiled potatoes into an aromatic appetizer and is very filling. As it is a no onion or garlic recipe, it can be served while you are observing fast during Janmashtami,Navaratri etc.While cumin seeds define the flavour of roasted jeera, a dash of lime, pepper powder, green chillies and cilantro enhances the taste.Enjoy Farali
Jeera Aloo hot with roti, kuttu puris alongwith curd.
Cooking Instructions

Boil potatoes,peel and chop into cubes.Heat oil and ghee in a non-stick pan.Sprinkle cumin seeds and when they sizzle,add asafoetida. Sprinkle chopped green chillies. Add cubed potatoes and toss to mix.

Fry on medium to high flame for 2-3 minutes till light brown. Add rock salt (sendha namak), cumin and black pepper powder and stir fry till the spices coat the potatoes and they are well roasted.Sprinkle half of cilantro and toss.

Add lemon juice or amchoor powder and mix.Garnish with some more cilantro and lemon wedges and serve hot with roti or kuttu poori and curd.
