Ingredients

25-30 minutes
2 servings
  1. 2-3medium size chikoo (sapota)
  2. 1 litresfull-fat milk
  3. 2 tbspsshort-grain rice (or any rice which is best for kheer)
  4. 2 teaspoonssugar (accordingly to taste of chikoo)
  5. few chopped almonds, pistachios and cashew nuts for garnishes

Cooking Instructions

25-30 minutes

    Peel the chikoo, discard its seeds. Cut chikoo into small pieces and make a pulp in the blender. Keep aside.

    Rinse the rice and soak it in ½ cup of water.
    Heat the milk in a heavy bottomed pan over medium heat.

    Once the milk boils, reduce the heat. Drain the water from the rice and add the rice into milk.

  4. 4

    Cook until the rice is well cooked and kheer mixture thickens while stirring frequently, ensuring that the rice does not stick to the bottom. If the mixture is too thick then add little milk more.

    Add sugar and cook for another 5 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and let the kheer cooled completely, then add the chikoo pulp and mix.

    Pour into bowls.

    Garnish with few chopped almonds, pistachios, cashew nuts and serve.
