Ingredients

50 minutes
4 servings
  1. 1 cupkala chana (washed, soaked in water overnight (12 hr))
  2. To tasteSalt,
  3. 1 tspoil,
  4. For masala...
  5. a) 1 tbsp mustard oil,
  6. b) 1/4 tsp hing,
  7. c) 1/2 tsp zeera,
  8. d) 1 tsp red chilli powder,
  9. e) 1 tsp dhania powder,
  10. f) 1/2 tsp haldi powder,
  11. g) Salt to taste,
  12. h) 1/2 tsp garam masala powder,
  13. For Chaat...
  14. a). 1 med sized boiled aloo, peeled, small diced
  15. b). 1 med sized onion chopped finely,
  16. c). 4 green chilli chopped finely,
  17. d). 1 med sized cucumber, peeled, small diced,
  18. e). 1/2 cup small diced tomato 🍅,
  19. f). Salt to taste,
  20. g). 1/2 tsp zeera powder,
  21. h). 1/2 tsp amchur powder,
  22. I). 1/2 tsp chaat masala,
  23. j). 1/2 tsp red chilli powder,
  24. k). 1 tbsp lemon juice,
  25. l). 1 tbsp anaar dana,
  26. m). 1/2 cup chopped dhania patta.

Cooking Instructions

50 minutes

    Strain chana, add in a pressure cooker. In goes 4 cup water, salt & oil, place the lid. Give 6 whistles on high flame, lower the flame, cook it for 15 minutes. Turn off the flame. Allow it to depressurise naturally. Open the lid, transfer it to a bowl, keep aside.

    Take a wok or pan, add oil, heat it. Add hing & zeera, let it splutter.

    In goes dhania powder, red chilli powder & haldi powder, mix it well. Add lil water to avoid burning.

    Now add lil salt & garam masala powder, mix it well. Cook it until oil has oozed out. Add boiled chana, mix it well. Cook it until a lil dry. Turn off the flame.

    Take out in a bowl, allow it to cool down.

    Now add aloo, onion & green chilli. In goes kheera & tomato.

  7. 7

    Now add salt & all the powdered spices

  8. 8

    Now add dhania patta, anaar dana & lemon juice. Mix it thoroughly.

  9. 9

    Take out in a serving bowl, garnish it with some more chopped dhania patta for extra flavour.
