Ingredients

  1. 2 Tbspolive oil
  2. 1 kgstewing beef
  3. 1onion, chopped
  4. 2Garlic cloves, minced
  5. 4Bay leaves
  6. 2 TbspPepper
  7. 2 TbspPaprika
  8. 2 TbspBeef Rub
  9. 2 TBspTomato Paste
  10. 3 Tbspworcestershire sauce
  11. 750 mlBeef stock
  12. 4medium carrots and green beans
  13. 4medium baby marrows
  14. Dombolo recipe
  15. 3 cupscake flour
  16. 5 ginstant dry yeast
  17. 1 Tbspsugar
  18. 1 tspsalt
  19. 2 cupswarm water

Cooking Instructions

    HEAT oil in a pot, then fry the meat in the oil until browned on all sides, you may need to do this in batches.

    On the same pot, add onions and garlic and sauté until the onions soften, Carrots, baby marrows and green onions.

    ADD garlic and spices and stir to coat in the spices.

  4. 4

    ADD tomato paste and Worcestershire.

  5. 5

    ADD stock, bring to a simmer, cover and allow to cook for an hour or until the meat is tender.

    PLACE the flour, yeast, sugar, and salt into a bowl and mix together.

    SLOWLY add the water, a little at a time until a soft dough forms.
    TIP onto a floured surface and knead until the dough is smooth and elastic (± 10 minutes).

    PLACE into an oiled bowl, cover and allow to prove for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.

    TIP out onto a floured surface and knead to knock out the air, then divide into even pieces and form into balls. Place the dough balls onto the stew, cover with a lid then simmer over low heat for 20-25 minutes or until dough balls have risen and cooked through.

    Serve warm and enjoy!
