Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsyam pieces
  2. 1onion
  3. 2tomato
  4. 1 teaspoonginger garlic paste
  5. 1/4 cupcoconut pieces
  6. 1 teaspoonfennel seeds
  7. 1 teaspoonpoppy seeds
  8. 1 teaspoonkashmiri chilli powder
  9. 1 teaspoonred chilli powder
  10. 1/2 teaspoonamchur powder
  11. 1/2 teaspoonturmeric powder
  12. 1 table spoonghee
  13. 1 teaspoonsalt
  14. 200 mloil

Cooking Instructions

    Take elephant yam,peel off the skin. Cut into julienne shape. Put it in the oven steamer,and steam it for four minutes.

    Take a mixer jar add coconut pieces, fennel seeds and poppy seeds, and grind it into powder.

    Keep a fry pan on low heat,add oil, fennel seeds, curry leaves and chopped onion, saute for few minutes, add ginger garlic paste and tomato pieces,fry nicely.

    Then add turmeric powder, chilli powder, kashmiri chilli powder and salt,mix it and close for two minutes. Meanwhile keep a kadai,add oil,let it hot enough,add the steamed yam pieces and fry till it turns crispy. Then add into the onion and tomato masala mix.

    Fry till the spice mix is coated completely with yam pieces. Then add the coconut masala, mix well.

    Now add one table spoon of ghee, amchur powder and salt saute for a few minutes. Tasty Yam sukka is ready to serve.

    Transfer to a serving bowl. Sprinkle some chopped coriander leaves.

    Enjoy the tasty and crispy elephant yam sukka with all varieties of rice.
