Cooking Instructions

Boil spagetti for 6mins and sieve out the water.

Wash and keep aside

Wash and cut the potatoes,green peas and tomatoes.

Put a dry pot on fire,add groundnut oil heat up and add onion then the sachet tomatoes.

Fry for 2mins and pour in the sliced tomatoes.

Fry all for 5mins add water,minimal amount allow it to boil very well.

Add Maggi,pepper,Turmeric,ginger and salt.leave it to boil very well.

Pour in the spagetti and stir to mix up well then cover to boil.

When is almost pour in the sliced carrots and green peas.

Stir and lower the heat boil for 1min and turn off the heat.

Its summertime and I wanted to make a lentil dinner. Usually I make Lentil Stew but its too hot for that. So I wanted to do something else. I found this recipe in my Forks Over Knives cookbook called Spaghetti with Lentil Ragu. This "meat" sauce is based on that recipe. The recipe calls for diced tomatoes but I chose a can of crushed tomatoes to make a sauce. I also put the lentils through a blender to make the lentils more ground meat like . Topping it with cheddar cheese really finished it off perfectly. I hope you'll like it as much as my family did. Debbie -
