Beer Batter for Fish or Chicken

Ingredients

  1. 3/4 cupAll Purpose Flour
  2. 2 tbspCornstarch
  3. 1/4 tspbaking soda
  4. 1/4 tspbaking powder
  5. 1/4 tspsalt
  6. 3/4 cupbeer
  7. 1Oil for frying
  8. 1Fish or chicken. I used Cod or Haddock
  9. 1extra flour to dredge fish before dipping in wet batter

Cooking Instructions

    Mix dry ingredients well.

  2. 2

    Add beer and mix until all is combined.

  3. 3

    Dip fish or chicken in flour to dredge, then in wet batter.

  4. 4

    Drop carefully into hot oil, 350°F and fry until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Drain on paper towels or rack to remove excess oil. Sprinkle with salt to taste.

    This is also good for onion rings, shrimp, veggies or mushrooms.
