Ingredients

3 - 4 servings
  1. 1 cupsoaked and boiled rajma
  2. As required Water
  3. 1 tbspoil
  4. 2bay leaves
  5. 2cardamom
  6. 1/2 tspasafoetida
  7. 2 tspcumin seeds
  8. 1red chilli
  9. 1 tbspginger - garlic paste
  10. 3 tbsponion puree
  11. 4-5 tbsptomato puree
  12. 1 and 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  13. 2 tspcoriander powder
  14. 1 tspgaram masala
  15. as per tasteSalt as per taste
  16. Handful Finely chopped coriander

Cooking Instructions

    In a large bowl soak 1 cup of rajma (kidney beans) in enough water for 2- 3 hours.

    In a pressure cooker add the rajma, 4.5 cups water and baking soda. Cook on high flame for approx 10 whistles.

    Heat the oil in a pan. Then add cardamom, bay leaves, red chilli, cumin seeds, ginger - garlic paste and asafoetida

  4. 4

    Now add onion puree. Saute for 2 mins. Then add tomato puree and stir it well for a while. Make sure you cook them properly.

    Add soaked and boiled rajma (kidney beans). Mix well. Then add red chilli powder, garam masala and coriander powder.

    Add water if required and salt as per taste. Now let it cook for 5 - 7 mins more.

    Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve warm with jeera rice.
