Ingredients

  1. -3,Fresh drumstick
  2. 1,onion
  3. 1 tomato
  4. 2dry red whole chilli
  5. 1Tamarind_
  6. 1 lemon size,
  7. _2 cloves,garlic
  8. 1tsp,jeera powder
  9. 1small cup,Toor dal
  10. 1/2tspmethi seeds_,
  11. as per taste salt
  12. 1/2tsp each Turmeric powder, black pepper powder,
  13. 1tspghee
  14. 500ml Water_or required,
  15. 1tsp urad dal seeds_
  16. 1/4tspAsafoetida
  17. 2tbsp oil ,
  18. 1tsp,mustard seeds_
  19. 2tsp,Red chilli powder
  20. 3tsp,coriander powder_
  21. 1tspSambar powder(optional)
  22. as required some coriander leaves and curry leaves

Cooking Instructions

    First soak the dal for one hour. The wash and boil the dall in a pressure cooker with jeera powder, black pepper powder, garlic,ghee, methi seeds and Asafoetida Powder to three four whistles.

    Then turn off the cooker. Mash the dall well and keep it ready.

    In a bowl keep the tamarind essence ready.

    In a frying pan pour oil put mustard seeds. When it pops add urad dal and fry onions with red chili. Fry till golden brown then add tomatoes.saute it nicely and add drumstick.

    Put salt turmeric powder red chilli powder coriander powder and mix well. Now add water and cook the vegetable. Then add mashed dall tamarind essence and boil the sambar for 5mins in low flame. Check the water consistency you require. Add sambar powder stir well garnish with some coriander and curry leaves.

    Ready to serve with rice and vegetable fry or poriyal
