Ingredients

  1. 1 cupRaw rice(cooking rice)-
  2. 4cupsWater
  3. 1/4cupMoong dall (skin out)
  4. 1/2 Ginger finger size,
  5. 4,green chillies
  6. 1stem, curry leaves
  7. 1/2 tspBlack pepper seeds
  8. 1tsp,jeera seeds
  9. 3tbspGhee,
  10. 1tspsalt ,
  11. 6cashew nuts

Cooking Instructions

    Cook raw rice with moong dal in a pressure cooker with four cups of water and salt

    Give 2_3 whistles. Then turn of the flame.

    In a pan heat oil add jeera seeds, black pepper seeds, curry leaves, chopped ginger and green chillies. Fry for few seconds and turn off the flame. Add this to the pressure cooker and mix well with the cooked rice.

    Again in the same pan pour ghee and cashew nuts and mix well with rice and pongal is ready to serve

    Serve ven pongal hot with sambar and chutney
