Spring Roll Sheet
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Add maida, salt, soda in a bowl and mix.
- 2
Prepare a medium batter by gradually adding water to this mixture.
- 3
Heat a nonstick pan, add 1 spoon of batter and spread it into a thin round and roast it on one side only. The sheet will automatically separate from the pan in a few minutes.
- 4
Spread the maida in a plate and place the sheet on it with the roasted side facing down. Later make another sheet and place on it. Prepare all the sheets from the batter in this way. (Reserve 1/4 cup batter for rolling.)
- 5
So, Spring roll sheet is ready. You can put it in a zip bag and store it in the freezer for 4 to 5 days.

Spring Roll Wrappers Spring Roll Wrappers
I used to always buy spring roll wrappers, but now I can easily make them myself. At first, it takes some practice to get the heat right, since every stove and pan is different. Try making them a few times and you'll get the hang of it. Tip: If the pan is too hot, the dough won't stick to the pan—it'll stick to your hand instead! Kittiya JoyTranslated from Cookpad Thailand -

🍒Banh Cuon: Vietnamese Steamed Rice Rolls Adapted with Spring Roll Wrappers🍒 🍒Banh Cuon: Vietnamese Steamed Rice Rolls Adapted with Spring Roll Wrappers🍒
When I go back home to Udon, there are so many places to buy these, and they're all delicious. My favorite shop is in the Ban Huai market—locals from Udon might know it—or you can also find them at Center Point Udon, which are just as tasty. I found this recipe that adapts the traditional fresh rice sheets by using ready-made Vietnamese spring roll wrappers instead, and it turned out great! Next time I go home for Songkran, I'll get the soft, fresh kind again, but for now, this homemade version really hits the spot.
