Cracked wheat, we commonly call “Dalia” in Hindi. A bowlful of Daliya, tops the chart when it comes to breakfast favorites. Daliya is an extremely low-calorie super food and it's high in fiber, protein and B vitamins , all of which play a crucial role in weight loss.

Dates despite of it is calorie content it contains Fiber and some important vitamins and minerals. Hence the combination of Cracked wheat and dates is very healthy for adults and kids and can be served as a healthy dessert or mid snack.

Ingredients

  1. 2 cupsDaliya
  2. 2 cupsmilk
  3. 3/4 cupgrated jaggery
  4. 2 tbspghee
  5. 1 tbsp cardamom powder
  6. 1 cupsoft dates chopped

Cooking Instructions

    Soak the daliya in hot water for 30 minutes. Heat the ghee and roast the daliya. Add milk and allow it to cook well until soft. Once the milk starts to evaporate add in the cardamom powder and chopped dates and mix well.

    Grease a steel tray / plate and spread the daliya mix evenly and firm. Allow it to cool down, keep it in fridge for some time to be firm and then cut into pieces. Garnish with dates.

    Yummy “Cracked wheat and Dates Katli” is ready to eat
