Gather all the ingredients.

Oil in a wok over medium heat.

Add tofu and cook on both sides until golden.

Remove from the wok and set aside.

Add oil/cabbage/water/salt. Cook and stir for 2 minutes.

Add oil and meat, crumbling the beef up into small chunks.

Add garlic and cook until fragrant.

Stir in bean sauce/paste and cook until fragrant.

Add sake/soy sauce/sugar and stir to combine.

Add tofu and cabbage. Cook and stir to combine.
