Ingredients

  1. 1 kgself raising flour
  2. 3eggs
  3. 1 tspvanilla essence
  4. 300 mlcooking oil (hot)
  5. 300 mlmilk (hot)
  6. 3 tbspsugar
  7. 3 tbspsalt
  8. 3 tbspmargarine (optional)
  9. 1 tspsalt
  10. 1 tbsplemon rind
  11. 1 tspcinnamon (optional)

Cooking Instructions

    Sieve flour and mix well with sugar, salt, lemon rind, cinnamon, margarine, eggs and vanilla essence.

    Add hot cooking oil and knead well.

  3. 3

    Add hot milk in bits as you continue to knead until its well combined to attain a chapati dough consistency (not too hard not too soft).

  4. 4

    Cover with cling film and let it rest for 15mins then roll into a 1cm width, cut into desired shapes and deep fry on medium heat to golden brown.
