I'm recording this here so I don't forget the recipe.

Try not to touch the onions as they're cooking! They'll still taste good even if they break, but it's best if they don't. Coating them in a bit of katakuriko may help keep them from falling apart so easily! Recipe by Silvy1978

2 servings
  1. 2Sweet onions (onions)
  2. 2 tbspButter
  3. 1 clove○Garlic
  4. 1 tbsp○Soy sauce
  5. 1 tbsp○Mirin
  6. 1 tbsp○Sake
  7. 1 tbsp○Water
  8. 1 pinch○Sugar
  9. 1Green onions or scallions

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Slice the sweet onions (onions) into 1 cm slices. Finely chop the garlic and mix together with the ○ ingredients.

  2. 2

Heat some butter in a frying pan.

  3. 3

Sauté the sweet onions over medium heat. Agitate the pan rather than touching the onions while they sauté so that they don't break apart.

  4. 4

Once they have browned, flip them over. They have a nice color, don't they? Sauté the other side the same way!

  5. 5

When both sides are nicely browned, add the ○ mixture! Be careful of splattering oil!

  6. 6

Coat the entire surface of the simmered onions.

  7. 7

Transfer to a plate and garnish as you like with green onions.
