My sister-in-law used to make this soup many years ago. My girls loved it so much that I had to get her recipe. I always make a double batch, as it disappears quickly.

Ingredients

6 to 8 servings
  1. 4 slicesbacon chopped
  2. 1/2 cupchopped onion
  3. 1/4 cupchopped celery
  4. 1 Tbspflour
  5. 2 cupschicken broth
  6. 1large potato peeled and diced
  7. 2 cupsmilk
  8. 2 cupscream style corn
  9. to tasteSalt and pepper

Cooking Instructions

    In a large saucepan cook bacon until crisp. Drain almost all of the bacon fat.

    Add onion and celery and cook until soft but not browned.

  3. 3

    Stir in flour.

  4. 4

    Stir in chicken broth.

  5. 5

    Add potato and simmer for 10 minutes or until potatoes are tender.

    Add milk, corn and bacon and simmer for about 10 minutes. Do no boil.

    Add salt and pepper to taste.
