Just like nikujaga (Japanese meat and potatoes) in Japan, every family in China has a slightly different recipe for this. This one has a north-east China flavor.If you don't have any Sichuan pepper, you can substitute black pepper. But Sichuan pepper eggs are so delicious!Slice the cucumber thickly. Put a timer set to 1 minute as soon as you put the cucumber in the pan. The cucumbers taste better if they retain their crispy texture, so don't cook them for longer than a minute. For 1 plateful. The only thing i do differently on the recipe is i use one large seedless cucumber, around 12" and omit the tomatoes. Very tasty side dish, enjoy!

This was a meatless Monday dish.

It was fun spending some time with Eriko this morning. She was hungry, so I thought it'd be a good idea to make a comforting breakfast to show her my appreciation for letting me stay in the house. The weather was springlike; the kitchen was filled with light, and from where I cooked I could see the beautiful sunlight. Porridge and some refreshing salad always made a perfect combo for a day like this. Eriko devoured it with enthusiasm!

Always wanted to make my own falafels and been trying to come up with a good sauce I did love this simple sauce

Easy and Simple, family recipe. My Father and My Aunt both use to make this. Growing up, i remember thinking i hated cabbage, until i tried this. Turned out to be a pretty good meal, cheap, tasty, and easy to make. Something i still enjoy cooking and eating.
